The Stars Theater and Arts Center in downtown Fuquay Varina will host open auditions for the community theater production of You Can?t Take It With You. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, February 28 at 7:30 and Wednesday, February 29 at 7:30 and are open to all actors ages 16 and up who are looking to get involved in community theater.

Those who are not ready to take the stage, but still wish to be involved can work behind the scenes on costumes, props, sets, lighting/sound or marketing.? A brief volunteer meeting will precede the auditions at 7:00 on February 28 and 29, also at the Stars Theater.? Even actors auditioning for the show are welcome to come early and hear about volunteer opportunities.? Please email the director at mrssegool@starstheaterandart.com with questions or if you wish to volunteer but cannot attend either meeting.

You Can?t Take It With You by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman is a hilarious comedy set in the 1930?s. The plot follows Tony, the attractive, young son of the Kirbys, who falls in love with Alice Sycamore and brings his parents to dine at the Sycamore home where an evening of high jinks, unexpected visitors and escapades ensues.? With a cast full of riotous characters and a script bursting with uproarious situations, this is a comedy sure to please any actor or audience.

Auditions with consist of cold readings from the script (sides are available on the website) and actors need only attend one night.? Headshots and resumes are welcome, but neither is required.? Actors are asked to fill out the audition form and conflict calendar ahead of time (also available on the website) or arrive 10 minutes early.? The play will be performed on May 11 at 7:00 and May 12 at 2:00 and at 7:00 at the Stars Theater and will be directed by Toni Segool, who most recently directed The Best Christmas Pageant Ever in December.? Please visit the website or email mrssegool@starstheaterandart.com with questions.
